Dr. Mohammad H. Mahoor is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Denver (DU). His research focuses on artificial intelligence, machine learning, and social robotics, with a commitment to advancing technology that improves lives. Dr. Mahoor specializes in developing innovative robotics and AI-based solutions to enhance the well-being and quality of life for children with special needs, such as autism, and for older adults living with depression or dementia. He is the recipient of a prestigious prize from the National Academy of Medicine and has been honored as the Best Scholar of the Year (2015) and Best Teacher of the Year (2013) at the Ritchie School of Engineering and Computer Science at DU.

Dr. Mahoor has successfully secured over $8 million in research funding from state and federal agencies, including the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Miami, Florida, in 2007.
